a good amount; when i did it it was when my hair was already pretty faded and i just needed to get the last bit of color out so i could dye it a different color. if you want to strip color i would suggest doing the olive oil and hairdryer, and then shampooing the oil out with a dandruff shampoo (Pert is best for this) to further strip the color.

how much of semi permanent color will it strip off?

  3. ATLalana87 Says:

she said nothing about washing it out. I hope ppl dont do this and leave it in. :-/

And some oils penetrate the hair well and some only coat the hair. She didnt say anything about why she chose to use olive oil and canola oil.

This video should have been more detailed

  5. EricaVeee Says:

i do this with just olive oil; put it in your hair and then go over it lightly with a hairdryer, made my hair sooo shiny.

also great for stripping semi-pemanent color.

  7. GIZELLE350 Says:

I agree, but you know it depends on the type of scalp you may have.

  8. GIZELLE350 Says:

Hey you should only do this either once a week or every two weeks (your choice). It isn’t safe to do daily because like the lady said your hair will only absorb as much oil it needs and if you do this daily, the oil can clog your follicles.

  9. fellinlove1 Says:

ur only supposed to do it once a month

Daily is way too much. Even once per week can be too much. This DIY treatment is very effective, but do not do it often or you will regret it.

Also don’t use vegetable oil, it stinks. Olive oil, almond oil and stuff is fine to use. And don’t burn your head with the oil, you will regret that too.

  15. Lucithen Says:

mamigen: hair will only absorb what it needs, so if you use it more than needed your hair wont absorb it.

  16. beautifuleyes8002 Says:

you just wet the towel and put in the microwave for 20 seconds

  17. mamigen Says:

have a question….how often do i do the hot oil treatment? is it safe to use daily? or just once a week…tnx..

  18. mamigen Says:

i am decided not to use flat iron for my hair coz i know it’s one of the cause why my hair turned too dry and damaged…as i saw this video i tried it right away and it works for me….it’s very manageable…tnx very mucho….

When i read comments im like: Really? REALLY?

  20. ichersue Says:

when i was a kid i always thought “hot oil treatment” meant “hair fried in boiling oil” XD

  21. PeeshPeeshTichma Says:

The towel is suppose to be wet geeesus

  22. Lucithen Says:

is it safe to actually stick a towel in a microwave? Wont the fabric catch fire?

  23. kellycappuchino101 Says:

yes you can. If you watch thumbelina258′s videos, she just recently made a video about olive oil treatments. She made it today. She said she recommends EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil. Go watch her video.
